Doors Open Richmond

Doors Open Richmond is a free annual celebration that raises civic awareness and showcases the diverse, multicultural places and communities of the city.

Residents and visitors discover and reconnect with a variety of local programs, services, and businesses. Since launching in 2008, over 269,000 visitors have explored Richmond’s most popular museums, faith-based institutions, cultural organizations, food & beverage establishments, civic centres, and much more.

Doors Open Richmond 2024

June 8-9, 2024 | 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Thank you for joining us for Doors Open Richmond!

This year’s event featured 43 partner sites and welcomed over 18,500 participants.

This year’s experiences included 32 sites available for drop-in visitation; nine sites hosting pre-registered tours; four pre-registered bus tours showcasing multiple locations across the city; and two videos featuring new partner organizations.

Volunteers are essential to the event’s success, helping partner organizations welcome visitors in a safe and respectful way and supporting visitors to have good experiences in new and unfamiliar places. This year’s event was supported by approximately 450 individuals who contributed an estimated 2100 hours to the event.
