Discover the activities of the every day citizens who volunteer their time to train to support supply and maintenance needs of the local army reserve.

8. Gurdwara Nanak Niwas: India Cultural Centre of Canada
Explore the Gurdwara and learn about basic concepts of Sikhism and the history of the Indo-Canadian community in Richmond. This gurdwara was established in 1985 and provides a spacious place of worship for the Sikh community and a popular location for weddings. Tour the Richmond Caring Place, home to 11 non-profit agencies and organizations in Richmond and view ceramic art displayed in our lobby, called “About Face” by Japanese artist Kinichi Shigeno. Choose from a wide variety of activities about the historic Steveston Buddhist Temple, in addition to guided tours of the temple throughout the weekend. The Steveston Buddhist Temple is one of the oldest standing temples in lower mainland. The first temple was built in 1928 and we have been on the present location since 1963. Experience authentic interurban rail travel and learn about early transportation in Richmond at the Steveston Tram museum. Climb aboard Tram Car 1220, one of the original trams that ran on Richmond’s rail system. Kids will enjoy restoring railway spikes and exploring the exhibits with a scavenger hunt.
